The indoor karting craze has taken the US by storm and in this episode we talk with Lee Boss from Boss Pro-Karting.
As a lifelong racer, hot rodder, and car guy thanks to his dad, Lee climbed the racing ranks for about 15 years, took a bit of a hiatus, and then started BOSS Pro-Karting with his cousin Brad.
Look at his racing resume!
1993 – Started racing go-karts at 5 yrs, Fremont Raceway Park
1996 – 1999: 3 national World Karting Association Championships and 8 divisional titles
2000: Moved to SKUSA Shifter Karts – 2nd Nationally
2001 – 2002: 2 track championships in 305 Sprint Cars at Sandusky Speedway
2003: Moved up to Super Modifieds, 3rd in MSA Championship
2004: Auto Value Sprint Series 410 sprints – lost my ride while leading points near end of season! Limited USAC Sprint Schedule (asphalt)
2005-2006: Full USAC Sprint Car schedule (dirt and asphalt).
2006: Graduated high school and hung up the helmet for college and a boring job after the '06 season and a trashed dirt car.
About Boss Pro-Karting:
"We are drivers. We believe in exhilaration through acceleration. We believe adrenaline trumps practicality, and that the edge of our comfort zone is where we learn the most. We believe that in this day of congestion and commuting, we are not alone in our longing for the freedom to run wide open, pushing the limits of grip and skill. It’s not about taking things to the extreme with abandoned disregard, but pushing beyond the comfortable deliberately, often, and with purpose."
That's our mission statement at BOSS Pro-Karting, while a bit dramatic, it's how we see things. It's hard NOT to have fun in a go-kart, and we absolutely do a lot of that. We can cater to anyone or any group at any experience level, and introducing people with zero racing experience to the fun of driving is one of our favorite things about BPK. For those that want to go hard though, that's where we stand out. Our standards are high for a racing experience, and everything from the track surface, kart choice, barrier system, setup, and more were designed for us to enjoy every lap as much as our customers.
Over the past few years we've expanded our corporate event and party options, added an outdoor track extension in the summer, brought in junior karts for ages 8 to 13 that are still wicked fast, and while we were shut down for COVID we built some cages and added Axe Throwing to our lineup. We're thrilled to still be here after 2020 and have some rather large plans for the future of BOSS Pro-Karting.
We're excited to keep driving this thing forward.
