Manfred Woodall – 80+ Tracks Days And There’s More To Life Than Just Racing

Podcast

Bill interviews Manfred Woodall who became interested in motorsports through the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix when he was 13.  Manfred bought a Honda S2000 and started autocrossing.  He then campaigned a Pontiac GXP Soltice.

Then in 2018 he hunted down a Camaro to get back involved.

Manfred talks about how he loves being at the track and  the motorsports community.

He also shares the news he received earlier this year regarding a cancer diagnosis.  The great news is that he fought and won!  This serves as a great reminder that men need to get their PSA test (prostate-specific antigen test).

Manfred provides an interesting perspective that motorsports doesn't have to be obsessive as sometimes competition can sometimes overrun life.  I am glad he shares this as I believe that some people get scared off thinking that it has to be all-encompassing, which it doesn't.  Being at the track should be fun.

Advice shared:

  • Slow down to go fast
  • Look and anticipate
  • Have a routine
What's next for Manfred?  Maybe vintage racing in a Datsun 240Z or a BMW 2002.
